Baguio Number Coding Suspension Holy Week and Summer (March to April 2013)

Baguio City Mayor Mauricio Domogan issued the number coding suspension news in anticipation of the influx of visitors to Baguio for the Holy Week and summer vacation from March 18 to April 12. The long suspension is also due to absence of students in schools due to the summer break.

Baguio City Number coding ordinance prohibits private vehicles in restricted areas surrounding Baguio central Business District including Session Road, Burnham Park, and Baguio City Market. It uses a similar system to MMDA Number Coding in Metro Manila using the last digit of car license plate numbers:

Last digit is 1 or 2: Monday (banned from 7am to 7pm)
Last digit is 3 or 4: Tuesday (banned from 7am to 7pm)
Last digit is 5 or 6: Wednesday (banned from 7am to 7pm)
Last digit is 7 or 8: Thursday (banned from 7am to 7pm)
Last digit is 9 or 0: Friday (banned from 7am to 7pm)

Baguio City Number coding is also suspended during other national holidays like Christmas Day, All Saints Day, Rizal Day, Holy Week (not just on Holy Thursday and Good Friday)and national election day.

Baguio City Number Coding Exemption passes are available for PhP500.00 (same as the number coding violation ticket penalty)
