I don't know if this video of the Department of Tourism (DOT) "It's more fun int the Philippines" is official i.e. made, created, distributed or sanctioned by the the DOT but when I first saw it, I noticed one picture that resembles one of the pictures of Apatot Beach in San Esteban, Ilocos Sur.
When I replayed it and froze the frame to see and verify, I confirmed it's my picture with the watermark still on it.
here's the video again:
The original picture can be found on this post:Apatot Beach, San Esteban, Ilocos Sur
Note that the one who made the video didn't contact me for my permission to use the photo. Not that I mind but if it's an official DOT video then shame on them or on the agency who created the video (though it's cute and catchy), if the maker is just an avid Philippine tourism fan or another blogger, I can let it pass since the watermark was not removed. There are other pictures there that may have also been used without permission (I can see one or two with George Tapan watermark/copyright markings so if you're a blogger or photographer who posts pictures online, do check it out.
What should I do? Is this such a "nice" problem to have? ;P
It looks like they (whoever it is that created this) combed through the blogs and picked photos without permission. I think I also recognized one other photo from another blogger.
ReplyDeleteare you supposed to be flattered? or flattened? using others' photos without permission is wrong, unless it's for personal use only, with not a single dollar earned from it - resty o.
