As recently announced by the Department of Foreign Affairs, for people like Tutubi with expired passports of for those with expiring passports but need to travel, you can now apply for one year extension at the DFA-OCA on Macapagal Avenue in Pasay City.
Price of passport extension: Free (for applicants waiting for the release of new electronic passports (ePassports).
How to apply for passport extension? Just proceed to DFA-OCA and visit the Passport Director's Office (ground floor DFA-OCA) for assistance. This is particularly for Overseas Filipino workers (OFW) and applicants with urgent or emergency circumstances.

Tutubi is currently waiting for the release of his new passport he renewed in Paete, Laguna recently through the DFA Mobile Passporting service. His new passport will be released some time in June via DFA Lucena.
