Tutubi was in Tagaytay last week for a 3D/3N official business trip in the form of a convention at Taal Vista Hotel, the most prestigious hotel in Tagaytay. He was booked at the premier room with the best view of Taal Volcano and Taal Lake and yet he wasn't able to fully enjoy the facility due to his very busy schedule that made him wake up at 6am and sleep around 12mn.
He arrived in Tagaytay on Thursday night and had dinner at Pamana, his choice and answer when his boss asked him where he'd like to have dinner: Antonio's or Josephines, but he answered Pamana.
Anyway, it was windy and cold that made him shiver, even if he's used to cold places particularly datacenters.
His other friends at Taal Vista also commented that it's colder in Tagaytay than Baguio to which he partially agreed.
Though Tutubi visited Baguio thrice in two years, where he found it quite warm, a direct comparison of which is colder based on temperature is invalid because they're 1 and two years apart. In the words of the cliche of his officemates: it's not apples to apples comparison.
If Tutubi can be in two place at one time, to take temperature measurements, he can be more objective and not subjective.
Anyway, Tagaytay was hotter last Sunday when he was going home unlike the three preceeding days.
This is just a filler post, Tutubi knows Baguio is generally colder than Tagaytay, being on a higher altitude, but the wind in Tagaytay was quite unbearable when Tutubi was there, turned his bulalo to sebo in a matter of minutes, unlike the three times he was in Baguio. Note that at the same time in the Visayas, particularly Bohol and Leyte were experiencing heavy rains, due to wind convergence (per PAGASA) that brought floods and landslides.
I was also surprised to experience super cold weather in tagaytay at this time of the month. I was literally shivering to death and blamed myself from not bringing my jacket.

ReplyDeleteTagaytay being colder than Baguio is pretty weird. But with the climate changes we see every now and then, I am not surprised.

ReplyDeleteJust look at the temperature. Baguio on the last last and first quarters of the year hovers around 12 D at night with temperatures dipping to 8 degrees (coldest Ive been to was 10). Tagaytay cold weather is mainly due to the breeze blowing, still nice though.

ReplyDeleteIt is really colder in Tagaytay than Baguio. In my 40 years of living in Tagaytay, I have not seen a person wearing a G-string or bahag. In Baguio, people still can wear that. ;-)
