For those people following Tutubi on Facebook, they have a shot at suggesting to him where to go/visit, where to eat and where to stay.
this time, it's an upcoming visit to Ilocos Sur, to the town of Sta. Cruz to be exact, and Tutubi wanted to know several things before he goes there.
In the course of his research, he stumbled on this Ilocos Sur tourism video that mentioned several places that interest Tutubi
several places mentioned:

numerous things to see/witness:
tambourine in bantay, buri in san juan, abel vigan and santiago, pagburnayan vigan
several ilocos sur delicacies and specialties (all already tasted by Tutubi before except the opia where he can't find information)
longganisa, bagnet, tinubong, empanada, basi, candon calamay, opia, royal bibingka, pinakbet
visita iglesia of Ilocos Sur's churches sporting earthquake baroque architecture including the Church of Sta. Maria, a UNESCO World Heritage Site
sta maria church, sta lucia church, sinait church, magsingal church st william the hermit, sta catalina church, san vicente church, simbaan a basit, bantay church nuestra senora de la caridad, st paul metropolitan cathedral vigan.
There's also mention of surfing in sabang and cabugao beach resort pug-os.
Just a reversal of roles here, what's your recommendation? After completing visitng several of these places in a span of two days, Tutubi will give a thumbs up or thumbs down for places listed above...

Nice! Can't wait for you to feature my hometown Sta.Cruz. When's the trip? I'm going home last week of December and I plan to explore some tourist destinations in Sta. Cruz and it's neighboring towns too. Try to check out Kagutungan falls at Barangay Daligan. I've been looking for some pictures of the falls online but couldn't find any. There are also Spanish type kiosks near the municipal building which you might find interesting. Have a fun and safe trip!

ReplyDeletethepinaysolobackpacker, go ahead...most of the places featured on the video is not really recommended or just require lots of effort with no significance except bragging rights. it's funny there is no mention of kabigan falls near vigan, a waterfalls about a few kilometers from vigan and a 30 minute trek, also of Pinsal Falls in Sta. maria. it seems the people of Ilocos Sur who made the video don't fully know their own province
ReplyDeletehey tutubi! I'm in Vigan now. Calle Crisologo plng napupuntahan ko since I arrived late in the afternoon na. I still have 1 day before I head to Norte. Might go to Narvacan for the Sulvec watchtower & beach and Sta. Maria for the falls and the church tom. The accommodations here are quite expensive though for a solo traveler, my room in Vigan Hotel is expensive but it's old & dirty. :(
ReplyDeletethe pinaysolobackpacker, i stayed at Green R Hotel in vigan for P750/room...it's near vigan public market. sulvec watchtower is just beside the road near the bridge
