Palm Grove Hot Springs Resort, Asin, Tuba Benguet

For people who'll be flocking to Baguio City during the Holy Week (when even SM Baguio is open during the time), here's updated information and pictures of one of the hot spring resorts in Asin, Tuba, Benguet for your information.

Tutubi went to Asin, in an unplanned trip thus unarmed with information on details except his usual adventurous heart to explore places beyond the usual tourist spots, he was able to do ocular inspection of Palm Grove Spring and Mountain Resort where he was able to take photos of the swimming pools of the resort facility.

There are two primary Asin hot spring resorts: Palm Grove Spring and Mountain Resort and River View. The former is more modern in look while the latter is more of the nature type in accommodations and general resort appearance.

As of posting time, no official website still.

No reviews of Palm Grove resort for Tutubi merely visited the place in a very limited time, he took very few pictures and went ahead to look for a place to eat (it's around 12nn when arrived there). No information on restaurant menu prices.

Other Asin Hot Spring Resorts in the area include Riverview Waterpark (not River View Resort) which is the first one you'll see on the road. There are about two other Asin Hot Spring Resorts but not as noticeable as the mentioned two.

How to get to Hot Spring Resorts in Asin, Tuba, Benguet:

Commuting to Asin hotsprings is easy though it's about an hour from Baguio City proper. To get there by public transport, look for jeepneys going to Asin Hotsprings near Baguio Public Market (upper palengke) (Note: jeepneys with signboard Asin Road do not go there, probably near Km. 6 only. Kilometer zero marker in Baguio is near Burnham Park, and there's a reference for the original Kilometer Zero marker from Rizal Park in Manila for reference). The jeepney will make the return trip to Baguio Plaza near public hotspring swimming pool. Jeepney Fare: P22.00

Driving directions to Asin Hot Spring Resorts, Tuba, Benguet:

For those with their own cars and vehicles, you just need to find Asin Road all the way to the your target hotspring resorts in Asin (tip: you may follow Asin Road jeeps until you see the resort billboards). You will pass by Bencab Museum, at least two steel bridges, kilometers of zigzag roads and two tunnels (that locals call "tatlong araw at dalawang gabi" pertaining to the three days and 2 nights when entering and leaving the access tunnels to the town of Tuba. Travel time is less than an hour and about 16 kilometers from Baguio Plaza.

If you have your own GPS, you may contact Tutubi for the GPX tracklogs and waypoints of his trip, one of his first foray into GPS mapping with his shiny new Garmin Nuvi 1300 :P

  1. Nadaan ko rin itong Tuba, Benguet when driving going to Baguio. Not so sure kung ang mga resort ay malapit lang.
Our sister company is organizing a trip to Baguio for this Holy Week for only P1000 per head. Good for two days na yon, includes accommodation and food. Mura lang talaga, may bus kasi. Kaso lang I cannot join kasi bagong panganak lang si Misis. So, we will spend the Lenten Season at home na lang muna.
I'll try to find a review of your new GPS Navigator, baka maganda yan. I'm also planning to buy one for my bike - useful ito not only in going to provinces pero kahit sa mga kanto-kanto lang ng Makati at Chinatown. Alam mo kasi diyan sa Makati, talagang maliligaw pa ako diyan hanggang ngayon. Sa Manila, hindi masyado pero mas maganda kung merong navigator. I used a comprehensive road map in my [land] travels around the Philippines since 1994. Outdated na nga rin, eh. Kaya napag-isipan ko GPS navigator naman dapat ngayon, para sabay sa panahon...

  2. my family went here before without me.
perhaps it's really relaxing to take a dip on a hot spring pool on a cooler climate.

  3. dodong, ganda ng GPS Garmin Nuvi 1300 ko, helpful sya though pag di ka familiar sa area. I'm helping improve the map too.

docgelo, yeah. I don't like swimming in hot springs in summer, prefer to do it during the rainy season. You'll notice many foreign tourists there like japanese and koreans on believe in the healing properties of sulfur. Is the therapeutic claims of sulfuric or volcanic origin of hot springs justified?

  7. I was planning to go there last jan but also found from a niece another hotspring resort which is in Itogon Benguet locals called them Trese Resort but I think the name is 1300 pool resort its not that fully commercialise pa unlike the Asin resort but it does has a potential may want to check it out as an alternative check wiki mapia for the place 1300 pool resort, when you go there you will be in the deeper side of Baguio and I think there is no public transpo yet coz we hire a jeep just to get there.

  11. Mary ann, probably yes, pero the best way is to make arrangement either with the jeep or taxi to either comeback for you on the resort or if you are staying in a hotel let your hotel arrange the transpo to pick you up but of course everything will be for a fee but its safer then.

  25. this resorts sucks! promise! the place is nice. very refreshing. clean. but, it is 30 minutes drive from Baguio proper.(from session road) there is no traffic going there so think about how far is the place. it is part of Benguet and the most of the taxi's don't want to be metered, 500 pesos is only one way. you must tell your driver to wait for you or come back because no available transportation going back to Baguio. based on my experience last February 04, 2012 with my husband and our 2 year old son, we expected to feel the real hot spring since we spent high transportation fee and long travel, and the name is Palm grove hot spring. but, why is it called hot spring? pools are not even warm! it's cold! the children's pool is just the only pool which have a HEATER! take note, heater! not natural hot spring. so don't ever bother to go there ever! we were very disappointed. waste of time and money! we went there after having lunch at session road STAR CAFE! VERY YUMMY! we arrived in palm grove at 2:30 in the afternoon, disappointed that the pool is just until 5 o'clock. the staff told us that only the pool, we can still use the shower until. but, my husband and son take shower at almost 5 o'clock, to be disappointed again because they're still in the shower but staffs already turn it off!!!!!!!!!!!! they ended up finishing there shower with the shampoo and soap on there body!!!!!! plus, our things is beside the kiddie pool, we're still fixing our things, and my little boy is hungry so he eat and have some milk from his feeding bottle. staffs already put there cleaning materials near us. as if they already wanted us to go! and I caught them trowing us there angry look! and saying something. as Bisaya I understand some of there words! negative words for us! so I look at them too and carry my eating baby, went straight out! leaving my husband there trying to carry all our things! they didn't even bother to help him! what a fucking experiencing! we haven't even heard a thank you! very disappointing experiencing! better go to Laguna. it's warm. not cold like palm grove!

  26. @banaagjim" sorry if you are not contented with the service they had rendered. but i want to react on what you said that at palmgrove they are using heater and the water are not natural hot springs...i would like to explain to you further that there is hot spring water there i'm a regular client. we cannot see the overflowing hot spring there because they are using pump. the natural hot spring water comes from underground piped to their bath houses..the indoor and outdoor bath...during week ends they put natural hot spring water at the kiddie pool..try it some other time again so that you can feel the healing breeze of the hot spring water... you need not to rent a cab to get there you can ride to the jeepneys baguio via asin or vice versa for a lesser expense..

  34. @banaagjim,

Just want to react also on your comment about the resort sucks.. You are not helping other possible tourist looking for objective review. Its just that it took you 30 mins to travel makes this resort sucks already? Didnt you do some research first that asin is not in Baguio its in Benguet. So talaga slightly malayo po talaga sya sa Baguio city proper. Buti nga naka semento na ang daanan dun e nun high school kami it took us an hrs or so to reach it and FYI me jeep po papunta dun. umaalis sila ng umaga until lunch nagtanong tanong ka sana muna if saan yun terminal ng jeep in baguio and most jeep from asin mga 5pm to 6pm ang last trip talaga. Hindi po sya city so dont expect na isang tambling lang nasa pool ka.. sensya na po.. kasi nagchecheck lang ako ng feedback if which resorts ang OK ngayon sa asin e..

  35. wala na ba ibang resort na OK? River view ba?

    ReplyDelete
  36. Maganda nga sa palm groove eh....wlang heater ung tubig....imagine heater sa laki ng pool...??..d lugi sila...hahaha...tska may jip po na papunta dun...mga 22 pesos per head..and to think..mganda un kc malayo sa city...fresh air...wlang usok ng sasakyan...tahimik....mas maappreciate mo ung nature...tska kya hanggang 5pm lang un...kc nililinisan ung pool...pra malinis ulit pra sa mga magoovernyt....kung gusto mong makakita ng over flowing na hot water...go to 1300 itogon..trese kung tawagin...and meron silang steam bath dun...

  38. Me and my family was just been there at Palm Grove Hot Spring Resort on this 2nd day of January 2015. I have nothing to say about their services except for their swimming pool which isn't really a hot spring but cold especially the adult pool.

  39. had my first visit there this morning and I really didn't have a good time~ the staffs were not very polite and the owner wasn't even listening when we were complaining... they had very bad customer service... we just started enjoying but they totally destroyed our day~ so we just washed and left immediately...

you aren't even allowed in the "lap pool" if you are just a beginner... which totally sucks~ the staff kept blowing his whistle and shouting arrogantly... there were no other people using that pool that time but my friends were asked to move to the not so good pools because they weren't that good at swimming...
