Latest Thailand Travel Advisory: Bangkok Rally on March 12, 2010

For readers of this blog who are planning to visit Bangkok, Thailand on Friday, March 12, 2010, please re-consider if you can due to the planned anti-government rally in the sprawling capital may result to disruptions, violence or get stranded like what happened in 2008 when Bangkok International Airport (Suvarnabhumi Airport) was shut down by protesters/demonstrators that resulted to flight cancellations stranding passengers for weeks

If you can can't postpone your non-essential travel, try to get out of the capital if not out of the country by train/bus to neighboring Cambodia or Vietnam.

For people already in Thailand, you are advised to avoid meeting areas and staging areas of the protesters, the so called "Red Shirts," supporting Thaksin, the ousted form leader of Thailand.

This has happened before and may happen now. Try to stay tuned for the latest news on Bangkok rallies for your safety considerations.
