Tagaytay Zipline & Cable Car at Picnic Grove (Entrance Fee and Rates)

During pre-Christmas family field trip to Picnic Grove in Tagaytay, it's actually the Tagaytay Zipline and Cable Car that really got the curiosity of Tutubi though he knows it's a shorter version of the dizzying flying foxes of Mindanao particularly in Davao.

The zipline cuts across a portion of Tagaytay ridge with lush vegetation below and the shimmering Taal Lake and Taal Volcano as backdrop. One souvenir photo is free to brave souls who tried to cross over. Mugs with photos of your adrenaline rush moment for sale at PhP200.



The zipline system uses a harness that can carry three persons as big as sumo wrestlers and two orange-colored tires as dampers to soften the landing on the platform

Across the same valley and along the "flying fox" is Tagaytay cable car though the better can be found at Tagaytay Highlands.

Tagaytay Zipline and Cable Car is a separate company and not under the management of Tagaytay Picnic Grove.

Height: 300 feet
Length: 250 meters
Speed: 60 kilometers per hour

Picnic Grove Entrance Fee: PhP50.00

Tagaytay Zipline Rates and Souvenir Prices:
Weekday rate: PhP200.00/person one-way, PhP300.00/person round trip
Weekend and Holiday rate: PhP300.00/person one-way, PhP400.00/person round trip
Tip: parking can be a challenge in weekends but the area has large parking area but not much restaurants for a Tagaytay food trip

rates come with 1 free souvenir photo

Operating Hours:

Open Daily: 9am to 6pm
Open during Holidays (Christmas, Holy Week (Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Black Saturday, Easter Sunday), New Years Day, Labor Day, my Birthday :)

Nope, this zipline is not the nearest to Metro Manila for in Quezon City Memorial Circle and at La Mesa Ecopark there are now ziplines in operation. The latest seems to be the new 200 meter long and 20 ft. high Rocket Zipline in Corregidor. Subic Tree Top Adventure Park also has what they call Superman zipline and all the others are in Mindanao.

    na-uso na ata ang mga ziplines sa pinas. i still ought to try at least one. eyeing the one in Danao, Bohol or Davao :)

    Me and my friends (Orven & Jerry Dah & our respective families) managed to make the mistake of going there last January 2! Bukod sa trapik na going in and out of Picnic Grove, napakahaba pa ng pila dyan sa zipline (lahat na yata ng tao ay naandon nung araw na yun!). Kaya hindi na lang namin sinubukan.

    And so as an advice to all others who would want to go there: don't go during or near a holiday, especially long weekend holidays, to enjoy more the view and all.

    freeze, haven't heard about the ziplines in your part of town...hope to be back in cebu a few weeks from now.

    aldrinbee, too many people indeed on holidays and the prices of ziplines are twice for weekdays. hope to meet your families and that of orven and jerry soon :P

    I'd been reading your posts for almost a year now and I'd been taking pointers from your blog for my next travel adventure.

    Tagaytay is one of my favorite places to go to as it's just a 45-minute drive away from my house. However, I would not recommend going to Picnic Grove because I think it's a total rip off. P50 ($1) per head plus a parking fee for a place that is littered with trash and hawkers that follows you around all the time is not something that would showcase the beauty of this country.

    Along the ridge, there are some good spots to park and view Taal lake and volcano for free.

    The beauty of Taal is so hard to resist. I just hope that the Tagaytay City Government, being the entity responsible and the one making money from it, would take concrete steps to clean up the place. And of course, the same goes to us all, bring the trash back home and dispose them off properly please.

    reader_arch, right you are. please also refer to my comments of the earlier Picnic grove review. I have the same sentiments :P it's just that the tagaytay zipline is inside picnic grove but not under the same (mis)management

    karen jean umak, i don't think tagaytay zipline is an part of tagaytay ecotourism. look for other aspects where the environment protection is emphasized

    I try zipline in Loboc, Bohol. grabeh sobra taas nakakalula pero napawi ng pagsigaw ko ng bongga. Try nyo masaya, mukhang nakakatakot sa una pero I still try it again. 350php back n forth na.

    try nyo din sa lake sebu, south cotabato, maganda ang zipline dun the highest zipline in asia, i tried it also and worth talaga mura pa P250 lang.

    me too i've been there kaya lang hindi ko natry ang zipline napakahaba kase ng pila saka andaming tao. nagtyaga na lang kami ng friends ko sa picture picture na lng haha! babalik kame jan next time! :)
