the sign in front of the garden the gumamela, or hibiscus, incidentally, is the national flower of Malaysia a lantana, common in exotic butterfly gardens as source of nectar a black butterfly called Common Mormon (not sure though, have to confirm with local butterfly watching enthusiasts)

That butterfly looks pretty spectacular. We don't have any like that over here in little old Belgium, but I saw some nice ones in the south of France some years ago.
wow. zamboanga is one of my dream destinations but there are lots of negativity surrounding the place. i am surely glad that you have proven that these are mere urban legends and a safe place to visit. thanx for sharing.
lawstude, it's safe in Zamboanga City, even felt safer there than some parts of Manila. No "evil" look from people while I was walking with my DSLR. Safety and security is your concern only outside the city.
it's a paro-paro(butterfly) not a tutubi(dragonfly).zamboanga city is safe provided you're in the city area and with someone who's a local.it's really nice place to live.it's cheaper than manila yet just as interesting. the food is exquisite...this is from a zamboanguena expat.mi corazon ta allegra na orgullo de mindanao...
