Pangasinan: Bolinao Beach Resorts

The Cape Bolinao Beach, a long stretch of white beach in Barangay Patar is now a famous tourist destination. The surf is said to be ideal for board surfing. Bolinao offers more than beaches for there are caves, cheap food at the public market and also some hotels in Bolinao town proper.

  2. In which area do you suggest we look for a resort? I heard that there are some areas where the beach is not so great or others is better.

  7. hi, my friend is challenging me to plan a trip to pangasinan with just a max budget of P2000. Any place you can recommend? I was thinking of Patar or Abrak...Which is better? I heard that both places have accommodations there that doesn't cost much. hope someone can give me a detailed guide on how to go there and who to contact & such (complete with costing)... By the way, is there a place we can eat or do we bring our own food? hope you could help me. thanks!

  8. trish, P2000 is doable for both but you need to visit the resorts' official websites for rates. is that your budget for 2D/1N or 3D/2N? you're from manila so you take away the bus fare already.

  9. hi! me and my co-workers are planning a trip to bolinao this coming Feb. We will be staying at the adjacent town of Agno and will just go to the town of Bolinao for a whole day of sight seeing and swimming. Our plan is to visit famous and history places there. Included in our itinerary are Bolinao church, Bolinao Falls, Enchanted Caves, Bolinao Lighthouse and go swimming at Patar beach. Are there still other beautiful places there that you recommend us going to? By the way, which do you think is the better falls to go to, Bolinao Falls or Tarra Falls? Can we go swimming at Patar beach without checking-in one of the resorts? Or do we need to at least rent a hut from one of the resorts there? None of us is familiar with the town so we plan to hire a guide. Do you know someone whom you could recommend? Thanks a lot in advance! =)

  10. ron, patar is a public beach (as all beaches here should be if you follow the law) but you may need to go to a washroom after swimming. Sorry, never been to the two waterfalls mentioned and no updated idea for a guide as I do my travels on my own or with friends (backpacking way)

  13. for those looking for affordable accomodation around Patar Beach, ping this number Beeboy 09204526157.

In our case, I initially thought about Rock Garden Resort which had the least expensive accomodation. Unfortunately, when we got there, all their cost friendly rooms are fully booked. We ended up knocking each available resort. Fortunately, we got an absolutely perfect rate from this very kind and accomodating guy….to the extent that I promised him i’ll post his number on the blogs to payback the discounts.

…prices are quite negotiable…i mean it.

Don't think about those fancy hotels and resorts because after all, you'd rather still bathe in the ABRA beach where the sand is (it's a little pass the lighthouse). The beach on the shores of the resorts and hotels is rocky and it'll definitely sting your feet. Also, the water on these shores are very shallow to such point that if you'd like to get the water up to your waist level, you'll have to walk around 500m away from the shore....youre skin is all soar by the time you get there...not to mention your tired and wounded feet.

—by the way, if ever you’ll call him, kindly inform him you got the number from a post by Ian on the internet (that guy who promised you to post your number); Just so he knows i didn’t break my promise cause I told him to give me the same rate when I come back, which i’ll surely do.

  21. For those who are searching for a great resort, you can try Ilog Malinos beach resort. The resort is somewhat new but it is very affordable and their rates are negotiable.

We just got back from our June trip to Bolinao and I've made a blog about a detailed information about the resort/ Bolinao trip and expenses.

    Hope this helps
