Flight chronicles of the backpacker Tutubi, with travelogues, pictures/photos/videos, travel guides, independent and honest reviews, affordable, recommended resorts and hotels (including inns, guesthouses, pension houses, lodges, hostels, condotels, bed and breakfast and other cheap accommodations), commuting guides, routes (sometimes street maps and GPS coordinates/waypoints) and driving directions to answer "how to get there" questions, information and tips on tourism, budget travel and living in Philippines, Exotic Asia and beyond!
Backpacking, independent travel, and flashpacking are cheaper than the "cheapest package tours" and promotional offers around but you can also use travel information for family vacations, even romantic honeymoon destinations.
More than the usual tourist spots and "places to see," this blog advocates heritage conservation, environmental protection, and history awareness for Filipinos, foreigners, and ex-pats wishing to explore Paradise Philippines and Exotic Asia!
A Not-So-Ugly Duk Ling: Free Ride Chinese Junk in Hong Kong Victoria Harbour
The Duk Ling, a genuine Chinese junk still operating in Victoria Harbour like the vessels that used to cross the harbour 150 years ago.
Looking for a cheap Hong Kong tour? The best and cheapest tour of Hong Kong is absolutely free. You can board the Duk Ling and sail into Hong Kong's scenic harbour for a 360 degree view of the city's picturesque skyline.
Duk Ling Chinese junk near the iconic Star Ferry
Tutubi wasn't able to get a free ride, again, due to memory gap. Only got to take pictures of the not-so-ugly Duk Ling at Central Pier before the Victoria Harbour Cruise (Click on the link to view pictures of the harbour tour)
Two piers to choose from:
Pier 1: Kowloon Public pier, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon
(accessible from Tsim Sha Tsui MTR Exit E)
every Thursday 2pm and 4pm and Saturday 10am and 12nn
Pier 2 Queen's Pier Central, Hong Kong
(accessible from Central MTR Exit K)
that's really cool and since i will be in HK in less than two weeks I look up to the tourist board website to book it. this is the link http://www.discoverhongkong.com/eng/heritage/ck/he_ckto_dukl.jhtml and although is not free it comes at very little only HK$50
