Travel Guide: Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte: Where to Stay, Bus Fare, Trip Schedules

From Vigan City tour, the group headed to a far place known as the Boracay of the North: Pagudpud, with its famed blue water and dive sites and the now famous Blue Lagoon (No Brooke Shields there)

For cheap Pagudpud accommodations, you may look for homestays near the beach for about P250/night per person. As a rule, no beach front resort is cheap :P

Where to eat in Pagudpud:

There are many restaurants in Pagudpud but mostly in the resorts/hotels. There are eateries in many places to satisfy your growling stomach. You can also go to the market to buy fresh seafood and other stuff to cook/grill on the beach or you can ask locals to cook food for you.


Pagudpud ATM, Banking, Money Changers:

No ATMs and banks in the area so bring cash with you. The nearest ATMs are in Laoag City.

How to get to Pagudpud, the way true backpackers would:

Bus to Pagudpud from Manila: (call the bus companies for the latest bus schedules)

Florida bus.
Terminal: Lacson St (Gov. Forbes) corner Espana (near UST) in Manila

Manila to Pagudpud: 9:30pm (Fare: PhP600.00)
Pagudpud to Manila: 8:00pm (Fare: PhP600.00)

In Pagudpud town, request the bus conductor to for you to be dropped off in a place called Centro (near the public market and Pagudpud Municipal building) or tell him you're going to the white beach then ride a tricycle to your resort.

Bus Commute from Manila to Vigan to Laoag to Pagudpud:

Partas Bus: Duration 6 to7 hours
Vigan to Laoag, Trip Duration: 1 to 2 hours
Laoag to Pagudpud bus: Trip takes about an hour. Signboard: Pagudpud or Claveria, Cagayan

Manila to Laoag (Trip takes 10 hrs) try Partas bus, terminal in Cubao, QC or Pasay. Fare costs PhP600

Going back to Manila:

If you plan to return to Manila at night, you may take Florida bus.

Return trip during the day day requires a tricycle ride to Pagudpud municipal hall where you can ride Laoag-bound mini-buses (fare: P70). In Laoag City, ask a tricycle driver to take you to bus terminals of Farinas (bus to Manila) or Partas (bus to Cubao. Fare: P701). Trip Duration: 11 hours with stopovers

Other Interesting Places to See in Pagudpud (Tourist Spots):

Kabigan falls (short drive/ride and 30 minutes trek away), Blue Lagoon (Maira-ira, boat ride from Saud Beach), Agua Grande, Paraiso ni Anton, Yellow Orange Sands

Other Activities:

Diving and surfing sites along the coasts of Balaoi and Pasaleng, Ilocos Norte. You can also hire boats for Island-hopping and dolphin watching off the coast of Pasaleng from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.

Pagudpud, if you're from Metro Manila like Tutubi, it means Pagud na, pudpud pa!

  14. Hi! Ilocos is definitely a wonderful place to visit, got a question though, do you have any idea about the road condition from Pagudpud to Isabela? We're planning of going to Pagudpud, then go straight to Isabela, and back to Manila.
